Flamboyant India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant met his former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Dubai after the IPL 2024 Players’ Auction on Tuesday night. Pant made his debut at the auction table for Delhi Capitals as he was one of the representatives of the side alongside Ricky Ponting, Sourav Ganguly and others.
The Auction ceremony was held for the first time outside India and Pant, who missed the last season of IPL, travelled to Dubai to attend it while Dhoni was also there but he didn’t join the CSK camp at the auction table.
After the ceremony, both wicketkeepers met and played pickleball in Dubai. The video of the incident went viral on social media.

Pant was involved in an accident back in December 2022 which put him out of action for well over a year. Since his accident, Pant has been on the road to recovery.
The wicketkeeper batter recently opened up on his recovery in the video posted by Delhi Capitals on the social media account.
“Feeling much better, given what I was doing few months ago. I’m still on recovery to 100 percent but hopefully in few months time I will be able to do it, It has been really amazing, because whenever we play cricket, we feel no one loves us because there is always pressure. ”
“Actually it is a bit of hard time, but I got to know atleast people love us, they respect us and the kind of appreciation and the kind of concern I would say people have shown, I think it was heartfelt for me, ” Pant said.
The DC captain also thanked fans for their love and support in the tough times.
“It means a lot as an individual when you are going through a very rough time. If your supporters show you love, then it means a lot, and it really helps in recovery.”
Meanwhile, Dhoni had picked up a knee injury during the previous season of the IPL and rumours regarding his retirement had been circulating.
The legend however played through the injury as he led the Chennai Super Kings to their sixth title, making it the most by a single franchise in IPL history.
