Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emerged as one of the most successful star campaigners for the BJP in the Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. Yogi Adityanath held four rallies for the BJP in Jammu and 14 in Haryana. The BJP won all four seats in Jammu where the Uttar Pradesh CM campaigned. In Haryana, the saffron party won nine of the 14 seats where Yogi Adityanath had campaigned.

In a major upset for the Congress, the BJP won majority in Haryana with 48 seats in the 90-seat Assembly. In Jammu and Kashmir, too, the party enjoyed an impressing outing, winning 29 seats to take the No.2 position in the overall party-wise tally in the Union Territory.

The BJP had organized a slew of public meetings featuring Yogi Adityanath in both Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, which translated into huge electoral gains for the party.

The results for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir have pointed out that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is the most popular choice as a star campaigner.

  4. Ramnagar: Won by BJP

In Haryana, the BJP added eight seats to its 2019 tally. The Congress won 37 seats, the Indian National Lok Dal won two and Independent candidates won three.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference won 42 of the 90 Assembly seats, the BJP won 29, Congress six and PDP won three. The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and the Aam Aadmi Party won one seat each. Seven seats were bagged by Independents.
