Amid reports that the RSS has given a green signal to Narendra Modi being named as the BJP's campaign committee chief for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, party veteran lK Advani has decided not to attend the Goa meet. Other prominent leaders who are not attending the meet include Jaswant Singh, Varun Gandhi, Shatrughan Sinha and Ravi Shankar Prasad. A. People close to Mr Advani indicate he is not opposing Mr Modi' elevation at campaign committee chief...he wants another election committee for 5 state assembly polls for 5 state assembly polls slated for later this year.

There are two different theories in the BJP on approaching the next general polls...one group feels Mr Modi should be projected and irrespective of allies leaving the NDA...BJP should concentrate on getting as many seats as possible and built an alliance post poll...the other view is to have a strong pre-poll alliance.

A. Difficult to predict outcome of polls these days...all states except MP may see a tough fight.

A. Leader are created by dint of a certain condition, circumstance and prevailing socio, political and economic condition in the milieu.
Q. Chief of campaign committee and PM candidate are two different things. In Past AB Vajpayee was not the chief of campaign committee but was PM Candidate. So why so fuss about head of campaign committee this time. If BJP gets less than 180 but more than 160, it still can say that NaMo was not our PM candidate, but just chief of campaign committee while forming government with help of smaller parties who has issue with NaMo. A. You are absolutely right, leadership issue is decided by the parliamentary board and that would be PM candidate. This is only campaign committee.
Q. If media report is correct, LKA and Sushma Swaraj are not favoring anointing Modi as Chief Election Committee? Is there any genuine and well thought reason behind their disapproval?
