Amit Shah Holds LS Meet 24 Hours after Sister’s Death | INDIA Bloc Still Stuck on Jan 22 Ayodhya Event
At the BJP meet, Amit Shah, JP Nadda and BL Santhosh not only strategised to win a maximum number of seats, but also decided how they could contribute to helping their allies win

Even as the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc of opposition parties continues to remain in dilemma for days over attending the Ram Mandir inauguration on January 22, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah was back to work on Tuesday to discuss the seat-wise Lok Sabha election preparations, within 24 hours of his elder sister’s death at a Mumbai hospital.

While the Trinamool Congress (TMC) from the INDIA bloc will observe January 22 as a day of social cohesion, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has smartly said they will prefer to visit Ayodhya, but after the pran pratishtha is done. Meanwhile, the Congress has declined the invite, creating a rift within the party.

Away from the opposition-style mega huddles, the BJP top brass met on Tuesday to quietly do its job. In attendance were 300 BJP workers, including BJP general secretaries namely Arun Singh, Tarun Chugh and Vinod Tawde.

THE BJP MEET

Armed with pen and paper, it was time to listen to party seniors Amit Shah, JP Nadda and BL Santhosh. The BJP not only strategised to win a maximum number of seats, but also decided how they could contribute to helping their allies win.

In terms of the 2019 Lok Sabha poll dates and counting, a reverse timetable is being prepared by the BJP. During the deliberations, Voter Contact Campaign, Gaon Chalo, ‘Labharthi Sampark’ or Beneficiary Contact and saturation of outreach to OBC, Dalit, Tribal Youth, and Women were stressed, said Tawde.

Shah stressed on last-mile delivery of government schemes — something PM Modi has been reiterating over the years. He is also believed to have harped on the ideological importance of the party, while mentioning Deen Dayal Upadhyay — a leader of the Jan Sangh, the BJP’s forerunner.

Interestingly, Shah is also learned to have urged those present to help leaders and eminent citizens who want to “join the nationalist stream”.

Meanwhile, party president JP Nadda urged all to be extra active at the level of Shakti Kendra and booth level — two micro levels of the BJP’s grand scheme of things. Nadda particularly asked everyone to ensure that the BJP’s vote increases in every single booth across India. Acknowledging that there are geographic areas where the BJP is still weak, Nadda urged the cadre to go the extra mile to make the BJP visible there.

Nadda stressed the pro-people policies of the Narendra Modi government that helped India flourish financially, while helping 25 crore Indians come out of poverty in the past nine years.
