Andhra CID Asks Former CM Chandrababu Naidu to Appear Before it in Amaravati Land Scam
According to the FIR filed by Mangalagiri MLA Sri Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, Naidu's associates threatened peasants and snatched away lands from them illegally.

The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday issued notice to former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to appear before it in connection with its investigation into an alleged land scam in Amaravati.

A notice has also been issued to P Narayana, who was minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development during the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regime.

The CID officials knocked on the doors of Naidu’s residence in Hyderabad. Both Naidu and his associate have been asked to appear for questioning on March 23.

Naidu’s team received notice.

Naidu has been asked to appear before CID on March 23 in Satyannarayana Puram in Vijayawada.

According to the FIR filed by Mangalagiri MLA Sri Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, Naidu’s associates threatened peasants and snatched away lands from them illegally.

Besides, it has also been alleged that several TDP ministers, leaders and party members had prior information that a particular region between Krishna and Guntur districts would be declared as the new capital of the state, and that they purchased vast tracts of land at low prices.

The CID had filed at least 20 cases against TDP leaders and real estate developers close to the TDP, accusing them of being involved in insider trading.

However, on January 19, this year, the Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed the insider trading cases, observing there was no evidence to indicate the same.
