Satyanarayana said that Jagan's supporters should not find fault with the investigation into the corruption cases.

Hyderabad: Stepping up offensive against the MLAs who have quit in support of Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh on Monday alleged that their action supported corruption.

State Congress President Botsa Satyanarayana, who is on a two-day visit to East Godavari district, said Jagan's supporters should not find fault with the investigation into the corruption cases ordered by the High Court.

The MLAs, who have submitted their resignations to the Assembly Secretary, should submit fresh resignations to the Speaker and get them accepted if they are serious about it, he said.

The Congress has been on the offensive on the 26 MLAs, who have resigned from their posts in protest against reported reference to late YS Rajasekhara Reddy in an FIR filed by CBI in cases related to Jagan, former Chief Minister's son.

Satyanarayana had earlier said the party is ready to face by-polls if the resignations of 26 MLAs, 23 of them from the Congress, are accepted.

He alleged that attempts are being made to make the legislators quit their posts by offering huge sums of money.

Meanwhile, Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao said he would write to the CBI soon seeking an inquiry into the alleged irregularities in implementing the 'Jalayagnam' (irrigation mission), Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad and other schemes. The irregularities allegedly took place during the previous regimes, he said.

Rao had earlier written to the court about the alleged corruption cases involving Jagan, who left Congress last year and later floated his own outfit.
