Arvind Kejriwal replies to EC notice; says his remark a way to stop 'note for vote' practice
Responding to the notice issued by the EC, the former CM said, "I will not repeate my bribe remark unless the Model Code of Conduct is in place."

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party chief and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday replied to Election Commission notice over his bribe remarks against opposition parties. The AAP chief appolised for his statement but said the remark a way to stop 'note for vote' practice during upcoming Delhi Assembly election.

Responding to the notice issued by the EC, the former CM said, "I will not repeate my bribe remark unless the Model Code of Conduct is in place."

During a public rally on January 18 at Uttam Nagar, Kejriwal had stirred a controversy by asking voters to take money from both the parties but vote for AAP in the Delhi Assembly elections. "I appeal to the people of Delhi to accept bribes from Congress and BJP. The money they will pay you for votes is money they have stolen from us. Take bribes from the Congress and BJP, but vote for AAP," said the former CM.

Despite being issued notice by the EC, AAP leader repeated the controversial remarks about bribes at a rally in Krishnanagar. Kejriwal defended his remark in the rally and said that he stood by his remarks in which he had asked the voters to accept money from the BJP and the Congress but vote only for AAP.
