New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs on Sunday once again assured that the Indian government was putting in all efforts to help the Indians stranded in Iraq.
MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said that while the 39 Indians in Mosul were still held in captivity, the Indian nationals stuck in Tikrit, another Iraq city, would be brought back home by commercial helicopters from Tuesday onwards.
As many as 40 Indians would be flown to India on Tuesday.
Speaking on Baghdad, which is the next target of the ISIS militants, Akbaruddin said, "There are new mobile units now in Baghdad moving around in suburbs, vicinity to reach out to Indian community. The numbers are 00964-7704444899 and 00964-7704843247."
The Indian government has also provided financial funds to the nurses in Tikrit. "Some shortage of funds was faced by 46 nurses in Iraq,we have provided those funds, They remain safe, We are in touch with them," added Akbaruddin.
