BJP backs Food Security Bill, but against some aspects, says Jaitely
Jaitley said that the BJP supports food security for all but they are opposed to the way it has been introduced and certain contents of the Bill.

New Delhi: 3:30 pm: Sitaram Yechuri blamed the government for indulging in practices of corruption. "There is no shortfall of money in the country. Money is being looted and parked through corruption. If the corruption can be controlled there will be a lot of money in the economy," Yechury said.

3:05 pm: During a discussion over the Food Security Bill in Rajya Sabha, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati said that by adding new clauses, the government is making the poor believe that it is spending a lot on their food.

2:10 pm: Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day after uproar over the Telangana issue.

12:50 pm: Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley moved the motion on Food Security Bill in the House. Jaitley said said that the BJP supports food security for all but they are opposed to the way it has been introduced and certain contents of the Bill.

11:40 am: Two TDP members in Rajya Sabha have been suspended for the day for protesting over the Telangana issue. The House has been adjourned for 15 minutes.

11: 18 am: Rajya Sabha has been adjourned for 15 minutes after disruption from the Trinamool Congress over the petrol and diesel price hike.

11:15 am: Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 2 pm following disruptions by the TDP and Congress members from Andhra Pradesh over the Telangana issue.

11:02 am: MP's raised slogans in the Lok Sabha to protest over separate statehood for Telangana. Following the uproar, Lok Sabha Speaker suspended four TDP and five Cong MPs from Andhra Pradesh for five days for disrupting proceedings on the Telangana issue.

The government is eyeing to push some key reform bills for discussion in Parliament in the last week of its monsoon session. With the government facing persistent attack over economic crisis and the Prime Minister promising more reforms, it is planning to introduce as many bills as possible before the session ends.

Several crucial bills are likely to come up for discussion on Monday. The amendment to the Right to Information act, Insurance Bill, Bill seeking to allow jailed politicians to contest elections and Manual Scavengers Street Vendors Bill are among the Bills that are scheduled for discussion on Monday.

The Food Bill is also slated for discussion in the Rajya Sabha on Monday after it was passed in the Lok Sabha last week.
