Saharanpur: There have been no fresh reports of violence in the riot-hit Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. A 5-member delegation of the state Bharatiya Janata Party will visit the city later on Wednesday.
The delegation includes riot accused BJP leader Suresh Rana who has been charged in the Muzaffarnagar riots case.
The situation on the ground was peaceful on Tuesday on the occasion of Eid. On Wednesday, curfew will again be relaxed in the old city in the morning for 5 hours and in the new city area in the evening.
Forty-three people have been arrested and 33 taken into preventive custody. 165 shops in the city have been damaged by the violence, while 5 security officers have been injured.
