Morena: The family of slain IPS officer Narendra Kumar is pointing fingers at a BJP MLA, who allegedly had a running feud with the IPS officer's wife, who is an additional collector. Narsinghgarh MLA Mohan Sharma has, however, said that he had differences with her only on policy issues and explained his walkout from a meeting chaired by her.
"I didn't like the discussion that was taking place about the development on the topic, so I walked out of it," Mohan Singh said.
On being asked about rumours that he got the IPS officer transferred, the BJP MLA said, "Transfer requires certain procedures to be followed, but yes I had complained to the Chief Minister that he had misbehaved with me."
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered a judicial enquiry into the alleged killing of Narendra Kumar, a 30-year-old IPS officer, in Morena.
Narendra Kumar was allegedly mowed down by a tractor-trolley on Thursday, when he tried to stop the vehicle carrying illegally mined stone.
The announcement by the Chief Minister came after the IPS officer was cremated in Bhopal on Friday afternoon.
Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijaya Singh hit out at the state government over the killing of the young IPS officer. Digvijaya Singh said that illegal mining is rampant in the state and that the BJP government is also involved in the same.
The Congress leader said that he has ample evidence to prove that the family of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in involved in illegal mining.
He also that he also has proof that a number of ministers are involved with open connivance with the state BJP leadership.
"Illegal mining in MP is rampant. Starting from the CM, down to the BJP cadre is involved… I have requested the MP CM to set up a judicial inquiry of leases granted in my tenure and the BJP tenure," said Digvijaya.
The former chief minister reacted angrily on the statement of MP Home Minister also, saying it was an "inhuman to too call this deliberate murder an accident."
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police denied the involvement of the stone mafia even though the officer's family claims that Narendra Kumar had filed several cases against tractor owners in the area - which were let go by the local police.
