A 'Jan Swambiman Yatra' will be taken out across Uttar Pradesh on September 13, the BJP said on Monday.

Lucknow: A 'Jan Swambiman Yatra' will be taken out across Uttar Pradesh on September 13 to highlight the Mayawati government's failures to curb flow of black money and prevailing corruption, the BJP said on Monday.

"The BJP will take out the yatra across Uttar Pradesh on September 13 to ensure corruption-free government in the state after 2012 Assembly polls," BJP national vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters here.

He alleged that corruption has reached its peak under the BSP regime and people wanted to get rid of this government.

The party would also organise dalits and backwards castes' meets between September 8 and 20 to know about their problems, Naqvi said.

Quoting newspaper reports on WikiLeaks regarding Chief Minister Mayawati, Naqvi claimed she had sent a plane to Mumbai to bring a pair of sandals for her.

"The CM spend over Rs 10 lakh on transportation of the sandal, which cost only Rs 1,000," he alleged.

Meanwhile, reacting to the Wikileaks exposures, BSP on Monday said that the party had shown immense maturity and patience when similar reports regarding senior BJP leaders as well as those of other political parties had surfaced in the past.

"But by reacting to the ones about the BSP, its government and the chief minister, BJP has merely given an example of its low-level of politics," a party spokesman said.

Terming the allegations as "baseless and politically motivated", he said that failing to find any concrete issue against the state government, BJP is out to make an issue of the exposure which has no credibility.
