New Delhi: While expressing confidence that bills related to "nation's progress" like GST and real estate will be passed in the coming budget session, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Wednesday said that the government will provide '3R' of "roti, roji and residence" to every citizen in next 10 years.
"I am confident that the bills related to nation's progress like GST, real estate will be passed in the coming Budget Session.
"We will achieve in next 10 yrs, target of providing 3R-Roti (food), Roji (employment) & Residence to every person," the Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs tweeted.
The Goods and Service Tax (GST) which will subsume all indirect taxes like excise duty, service tax and sales tax into one uniform rate, is stuck in the Rajya Sabha where the ruling NDA government lacks majority.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had also recently exuded confidence that the landmark GST bill would be passed in the next session as he said that numbers in the Rajya Sabha would tilt in favour of the new indirect tax regime.
The Union Cabinet had approved the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill, 2015 on December 9 last. The Bill is yet to be taken up for consideration by the Parliament.
