Chennai: AIADMK General Secretary Jayalalithaa on Friday charged Chief Minister M Karunanidhi with doing little on issues concerning the Tamil people.
"We know why Central government is doing nothing to bring down the prices of essential commodities, particularly vegetables, food and petrol. We also know why not a finger was raised by the Indian government to prevent the massacre of
innocent Tamil civilians during the final phases of Ealam War. The reason is Karunanidhi did not make a demand for any of these," Jayalalithaa said in a statement here.
The former Chief Minister also charged Karunanidhi with not taking up issues, including Mullaperiyar Dam stand-off with Kerala and the attacks on Tamil Nadu fishermen, allegedly by the Sri Lankan navy.
Jayalalithaa said it was left for people to decide if the DMK president "has any concern for the Tamil people."
