New Delhi: Anti-corruption activist Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday took the plunge into electoral politics, promising the country of giving a party of the people. While assuring the people that his MPs and MLAs would shun perks of power like Lal Batti beacon cars and bungalows, Kejriwal went on to say that he would let people decide the price of essential commodities.

Though Kejriwal said that he would announce the name of his party later on November 26, he did spell out his vision at a public meeting in the national capital on Tuesday. Addressing the gathering, the activist promised to bring in the Lokpal bill within 10 days of being elected.

His party's vision document called 'Swaraj ka Sankalp' also talked about the upliftment of Muslims, direct rule of people and a campaign against corruption and price rise. The former IRS officer also hit out at the Opposition calling it weak.

He went on to say that both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had looted the country in the coal blocks allocation scam. "It is clear from the coal scam that both Congress and BJP looted this country," Kejriwal said.

While formally announcing his entry into politics, Kejriwal said that he would fight elections without thinking about winning or losing. "I won't think about win or loss, but fight. I have to answer the next generation," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal said his party would be a people's party. "I will fight elections. The people of this country will be a part of electoral politics now. It's not my party but it's for the people of this country," Kejriwal said.

He also claimed that over 20,000 people have sent him suggestions for his political party.

Addressing the crowd, Kejriwal reached out to the people saying "the media keeps calling it Kejriwal's party, but it is not my party, it is your party, the party of the people."

CNN-IBN, meanwhile, accessed the vision document which promises that if voted to power, any person can make a complaint against any corrupt leader to the Lokpal. To maintain transparency, the vision document says all the expenditure will be put on the party's website immediately.
