Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Tuesday told the Centre it will have to implement his government's recommendations on Kasturirangan report on the Western Ghats.
Chandy said that the human inhabitation areas, agriculture land and plantation areas will have to be avoided in the area which the Centre wants to term "ecologically sensitive".
Chandy added that the problem occurred as the area was decided through remote sensing technology. The draft notification will be published in a day or two.
Meanwhile, the members of the Western Ghats protection committee continued their hunger strike for the seventh day. Five activists were shifted to the hospital on Monday night while five others are still continuing the fast.
