LS Polls: EC Warns Chandrababu Naidu Over Remarks On CM Reddy's 'Mental Health'
During his speech, Naidu also commented on Reddy's mental state adding that his behaviour indicates the chief miniser is not mentally stable

Amid the ongoing Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a warning to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu over his remarks on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy during a poll rally.

The poll body directed the former Chief Minister to be careful with his speeches against CM and YSRCP President Jagan Mohan Reddy.

This comes after Naidu in a strongly-worded criticism of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accused him of being a “dictator in nature and a psycho in behaviour.”

During his speech, Naidu also commented on Reddy’s mental state adding that his behaviour indicates the chief miniser is not mentally stable as a stable person makes stable decisions, which Reddy is failing to do.

“There are some clear indications that his mental condition is not sound. It is what we have been fighting for the last many days. A stable person will make stable decisions. He is a dictator in nature and a psycho in behaviour. He looted the state and destroyed the economy,” an NDTV report quoted former chief minister as saying.

“Only Jagan Mohan Reddy has money in the state. Everyone else is poor. Now he is bidding for private lands as well. How can he control my property? If I have to sell my land, I have to get permission from an officer appointed by Jagan Reddy. All these are mad acts,” he added.

Naidu also alleged that Chief Minister Reddy had plundered and ruined the state’s economy.

On Sunday, Naidu in one of his speeches, labelled Reddy as a “gang leader of robbers and landgrabbers” and called on people to dump the fan — the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) election symbol — in the dustbin.

The Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh will be held simultaneously on May 13. The counting of votes will take place on June 4.

In the 2019 Assembly elections, the YSRCP logged a thumping majority, winning 151 seats, while the TDP was confined to just 23.
