MHA orders probe into braveheart's friend's allegations

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has reportedly ordered an enquiry into allegations made by the Delhi braveheart's friend in an interview to a news channel about the delay by police in providing help to them on the night of December 16, when they were both brutally assaulted by six men aboard a moving bus and stripped and thrown off.

Sources said that the ministry has ordered a probe which will be conducted by a joint secretary level officer.

The braveheart's friend may be questioned over his allegations against the police. In the interview, the young man said that no passerby came forward to help them after they were thrown out of the bus for about 25 minutes.

He also alleged that three police vans arrived after 45 minutes and wasted crucial time in deciding the territorial jurisdiction of the police station under which the case falls.

The Delhi Police, however, refuted the allegations of delay. Delhi Police PRO Rajan Bhagat said, "The PCR call was recorded at 10:22:20 pm. The call was broadcasted to PCR vans and van Z-54 was directed to spot. Meanwhile PCR van E-42 reached spot on its own at 10:26 pm ie within 4 minutes. Van Z-54 reached spot at 10:28 pm ie within 5.5 minutes of call. It left the spot with victims at 10:31 pm ie within 3 minutes. It reached Safdarjung hospital within 24 minutes at 10:55 pm. All records as per GPS."
