Court ruling doesn't change SP leader's mind, but BJP welcomes verdict.

New Delhi Even as the Congress and BJP in Uttar Pradesh have welcomed the District and Sessions Court verdict against Amarmani Tripathi, Samajwadi Party supremo, Mulayam Singh Yadav has come out in support with the convicted former minister.

He has said that his party will support Amarmani Tripathi.

Meanwhile, according to news agency PTI, former BJP state president Keshari Nath Tripathi said the court's ruling has sent a message that no one is above law.

CLP leader Pramod Tiwari was also quoted by PTI as welcoming the decision and recalled that Amarmani's involvement was found in the case in 2003 when he was a minister in the BJP government.

Expressing concern over criminalisation of politics, Tiwari — according to PTI — claimed that except Congress, all other political parties were promoting criminals which was not a good trend and should be checked.

Amarmani is a sitting MLA of Samajwadi Party from Luxmipur constituency.
