New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday protested the proposed amendments to the Railway Protection Force Act (RPF). He has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh alleging that it would compromise the federal set up of the country.
Earlier, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Himachal Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal too had written to the Prime Minister objecting to the move.
The Centre is planning to provide police powers to RPF personnel.
