New Delhi: In a state that is well-known for its political histrionics, Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya has set a new precedent.
The leaders and candidates of Congress, BSP and Apna Dal on Saturday complained to the election observer that Raja Bhaiya, contesting as an independent from Kunda, was "terrorising voters and snatching" their photo-identity cards.
They also alleged that candidates as well as workers of different parties were getting threatening calls.
Former Congress MP Ratna Singh, Congress nominee Kunwar Amresh Singh, BSP candidate Shiv Prakash Senani and Apna Dal's Suresh Bharti met the election observer and urged him to take strict measures to ensure free and fair polling during phase three of the Assembly elections slated for April 28.
