Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday pitched for a "cooperative" attitude towards the Centre saying the "atmosphere of enmity" created by the previous Mayawati government has deprived the state of "required help".
He also ordered that all central schemes be implemented honestly and in a transparent manner and asked the police to bring a perceptible change in law and order in 15 days.
Akhilesh unveiled his approach to the Centre when he addressed the first meeting of senior administrative officials of the state to highlight his goverment's priority areas.
Yadav said "wrong" policies and administrative "shortcomings" of the previous government have put a stop on the development in the state and now it was required that resources are improved.
"At the same time, it is also required that a cooperative attitude be adopted to the Centre and maximum help is sought from the Centre to ensure all-round development" of the state, the Chief Minister said.
He said that during the past some years there had been "an atmosphere of enmity with the Centre", due to which the state has not been getting the required help.
There were also complaints of irregularities in implementation of central schemes and it has to be ensured that work is now carried out honestly and in a transparent manner, Akhilesh said.
