Vyapam scam: Decision on MP Governor's removal will be taken after PM Modi returns to India, say sources
Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be meeting on President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday evening amid mounting demands for Yadav's removal.

New Delhi: Soon after the Supreme Court issued notice to the Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav for his alleged role in the Vyapam scam, sources are saying that a decision will be taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns to India.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be meeting on President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday evening amid mounting demands for Yadav's removal. Sources said it is a pre-scheduled meeting but the chances of the issue relating to the Governor coming up cannot be ruled out.

There has been demand for the removal of the Governor over his alleged links to the scam but the Madhya Pradesh High Court had quashed an FIR against him on grounds of constitutional immunity.

However, the Supreme Court today issued notice to the Governor, the Centre and the state governor on the demand for his removal without commenting on demands that he should demit office.

Rajnath had also met Home Secretary LC Goyal after the Supreme Court transferred all Vyapam scam cases to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The court also issued a notice to the agency over monitoring the probe, seeking a response within two weeks.
