The new AirPods 4 series is here and if you are wondering why it has two models then Apple has found a neat way to get people to pay more for some basic features. The AirPods 4 has an ANC version that costs a lot more and invariably people might end up buying it because it is better than the vanilla AirPods 4 version. Having said that, the new AirPods lineup does get other features like spatial audio with head tracking, voice isolation and adaptive equaliser among others.

AirPods 4 price in India starts from Rs 12,900 but if you want the AirPods 4 ANC version, Apple wants you to pay Rz 17,900. AirPods 4 will be available in the country from September 20 like the other new Apple products.
AirPods 4 Features: What’s New And Different
Both the AirPods 4 variants look the same and the buds weigh similarly except that the charging case on the AirPods 4 ANC gets a speaker to activate Find My network. The AirPods 4 come with features like spatial audio with head tracking, while the AirPods 4 ANC has the transparency mode because of the add-on feature. Effectively, Apple has come out with a basic AirPods 4 and a premium AirPods 4 that rivals the Sony XM1000x5, the new Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and more.
Both the models are powered by the same H2 chip and get IP54 rating for dust, sweat and water resistance. You also now get the AirPods with USB C charging, which pretty much completes the overhaul for Apple. These support Bluetooth 5.3 standard for connectivity and works with the latest Apple platforms. Apple still doesn’t feel the need to make the AirPods in more colours, so you have to be happy with the white-only options for both the AirPods 4 and the AirPods 4 ANC variant.
