Apple goofs up on iPhone SE India price, to start at Rs 39,000 and not Rs 30,000
This is a rare goof up on the part of Apple that is known of its meticulous PR practices.

The iPhone SE is the cheapest ever Apple phone at launch. The lure of the iPhone got a little attractive to Indian users when soon after the launch event Apple issued a press release announcing the India price for the 4-inch phone - Rs 30,000.

But a Rs 30,000 iPhone SE was not to be. Six hours later, Apple realised its error and sent out another press release with the corrected price. The iPhone SE will be available in India at a good Rs 9,000 higher at Rs 39,000 for the 16 GB version. Apple is yet to announce the price for the 64 GB variant.

This is a rare goof up on the part of Apple that is known of its meticulous PR practices.

The 4-inch iPhone SE replaces a similar-sized model - the iPhone 5s - released in 2013. The new Apple iPhone is powered by the company's latest chipset that powers the larger (flagship) 4.7-inch iPhone 6s, which came out six months ago.

Like the iPhone 6s, the iPhone SE will be able to take pictures at 12 megapixels. By comparison, the iPhone 5s' camera is limited to 8 megapixels.

The iPhone SE will also be equipped with a longer-lasting battery than the iPhone 5s and have faster wireless connections. It will also work with Apple Pay, the company's digital wallet. The phone will come in four colour options- silver, gold, space grey and rose gold.
