Apple iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max Likely To Get Larger Displays: What To Expect
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models are expected to keep their display sizes at 6.12 inches and 6.69 inches.

The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is reportedly planning to introduce larger displays in its pro models next year. A recent report suggests that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max could feature a 6.27-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max might come with a larger 6.86-inch display.

According to MacRumors, Apple will up the size of the Pro-series iPhones next year. The standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models will retain a 60Hz display, akin to their iPhone 15 counterparts. Meanwhile, the Pro variants are likely to offer a higher refresh rate with a 120Hz screen.

The current iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro feature 6.1-inch OLED displays, while the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max have larger 6.7-inch OLED displays.

Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro models, released in September, introduced a new Action Button that serves as a replacement for the iconic mute switch. This button enables users to perform various actions.

Interestingly, Apple limited this feature to the iPhone 15 Pro models, excluding it from the standard iPhone 15 models. While this isn’t really a must-have feature, another report from MacRumors suggested that the entire iPhone 16 lineup could come with the Action Button in 2024.

Apple is also planning a design change for the standard iPhone 16 models, potentially reverting to the vertical camera layout seen in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, the report said.

As per the report, the ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro Max might be the first to have a super telephoto periscope camera, offering significantly increased optical zoom. Both ‌iPhone 16‌ Pro models are anticipated to include 5x optical zoom, a feature currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Additionally, iOS 18 is expected to bring new Siri features powered by large language models, while on-device AI features may stay exclusive to the ‌iPhone 16‌ models.

As per the report, ‌iPhone 16‌ and ‌iPhone 16‌ Plus are likely to feature an A17 chip, but it’s rumored to be a different version than the A17 Pro chip used in the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max models.
