New Delhi: Foodpanda, India's online food ordering platform, has launched the "Express Guarantee" service that promises to deliver food within 45 minutes - or else the money will be returned back. But there is a catch. The cashback offer here doesn't mean that the entire amount will be refunded or the order will be free for you.
"The cashback offer comes with a cap, but we will return most of the order value," says a Foodpanda spokesperson, adding, "the order will definitely not be free."
The spokesperson goes on to explain that the amount of money that will be refunded is capped at Rs 200, which accounts for over 50 per cent of the amount given the fact that our average basket value is anywhere between Rs 300-450. In other words, the maximum amount that Foodpanda will refund in case of delays is Rs 200.
The service will first be offered in Delhi, and after a week of its operational execution in the capital, it will be introduced in Pune.
Foodpanda has tied up with around 900 vendors in Delhi-NCR and Pune and some of the key partnering brands include Burger King, Wendy's, Biryani Blues, Eatsome, Subway, Ammi's Biryani, and Southy.
Over the next three months, Foodpanda plans to take this service national through a partner base of 1500-2000 vendors.
For this service, Foodpanda has selectively tied up with restaurants where it uses its own delivery fleet (Foodpanda delivery service) for an assured delivery within 45 minutes.
Foodpanda is said to have channelised its processes and used proprietary technology to track deliveries from the restaurants to the customer's door.
On an operational level, Foodpanda has segregated cities into smaller clusters and has deployed fleet to cater to the customer demands.
