With its influence permeating diverse sectors, from scientific discovery and research to semiconductor chip development, robotics, and even video making, AI stands at the forefront of transformative advancements.

AI is being used to analyse massive datasets and run complex simulations, helping researchers in fields like medicine, materials science, and astronomy. For example, NASA harnesses AI algorithms to analyze data from telescopes like Kepler, identifying potential exoplanets. Kepler-90i, a scorching rocky planet, was discovered using Google’s machine learning technology, showcasing AI’s role in space exploration.

Big pharma companies partnered with tech companies for AI drug discovery and development initiatives as well as for target identification, drug design, and lead generation. This demonstrates the incredible progress being made in robot agility and movement, thanks to AI advancements. In terms of humanoid robots, there are examples like Ameca, Alter 3, Beomni, OceanOne and others.

Meta has introduced Meta AI, powered by Meta Llama 3, boasting capabilities such as complex reasoning, following instructions, and problem-solving. Additionally, Meta has announced the rollout of multimodal capabilities to smart glasses, enabling visual understanding through built-in cameras. This enhancement opens doors to various applications, including text translation, object identification, and context-specific information provision.

Partnering with EssilorLuxottica, Meta’s second-generation smart glasses witnessed high demand, prompting the expansion of the Ray-Ban Meta collection with new styles tailored to diverse face shapes. Furthermore, Meta enhanced its glasses’ utility by introducing updates to Meta AI, enhancing user experience and functionality.

OpenAI unveiled Sora, a text-to-video generation tool capable of producing hyperrealistic scenes, in February.
