New Delhi: Following the lagging sales of the flagship One M9 smartphone and the disappointing performance of the company, HTC back in June said that it would launch a 'hero' smartphone in October. While the company so far has not given any information about its upcoming handset, images of the purported HTC 'hero' handset (codenamed Aero) have been leaked via Twitter account Steve Hemmerstoffer.

If these leaked images are believed to be true, the upcoming HTC smartphone will have a design similar to that of the Apple iPhone 6. The images may suggest that HTC is aping the looks of Apple's new flagship devices, but it was the Taiwanese giant to first use a metal case with inset plastic lines to allow proper transmission of signals, in its One smartphones.
An Android Central report says that HTC's rumoured 'hero' device will be launched as the A9 and will come with a 5.2-inch curved quad HD display, a 3,500mAh battery, and a deca-core MediaTek X20 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM.
It seems that HTC is eyeing at its 'hero' smartphone to gain a decent share of pie in the smartphone market.
