Nothing's First Budget Phone Launch Gets Closer: New Teaser Reveals More
CMF Phone 1 is widely tipped to be the latest and first budget phone from Nothing which could borrow the OS and overall experience from its parent company.

Nothing has teased its upcoming smartphone on X which shows screw head on the rear of a matte-textured device with a curved corner. It seems like the bottom corner of a smartphone, and rumours suggest it could be the new CMF Phone (1). Sharing the cryptic image of the device, which seems to be under development, the company captioned, “3, 2, 1.”

This suggests that the company will launch the upcoming Nothing device soon. Rumours also speculate that the device could be Nothing’s first tablet, while some hinted it’s the base panel of a laptop.

However, sometime later, the official handle of the company shared another post featuring a phone and screw emoji that hinted that the teased device would be a smartphone.

Last month, the company’s CEO Carl Pei teased a few photos of the upcoming Nothing Phone 3 on his social media handle, X, showcasing a redesigned quick settings menu on the smartphone. Moreover, the phone featured an extra button on the right side of the smartphone, which is speculated to be an action button like the iPhone.

As per the previous trends, London-based tech startup Nothing usually launches its phones in the month of July, and the timing of these teasers aligns with the expectations for a new product launch. As per a report by Android Police, the screw in the latest teaser hints towards a focus on repairability and may follow a similar design philosophy to the Fairphone 5.

Moreover, the upcoming device may launch under Nothing’s sub-brand, CMF, which is known for its distinct design language. CMF is reportedly developing its first smartphone, which is expected to come with a price tag under Rs 15,000.

The rumoured CMF Phone 1 may feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, a 6.7-inch OLED display, a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging, and even replaceable back covers.
