OnePlus has launched multiple phones in 2024 but the company has stayed away from the AI hype so far. The brand has now decided to change things and confirmed that AI-centric features will be coming to OnePlus phones this month. One of the AI upgrades for OnePlus users is going to be Pixel-like magic eraser tool that OnePlus is calling AI Eraser.
As we have seen with other AI-based editing tools, the AI Eraser on a OnePlus phone helps you remove the parts or even people that you didn’t want in the actual picture. If you feel a chair is ruining the perfect frame you have captured, just AI erase it. Is your friend photobombing your moment? Just AI erase it.
We have seen AI tools going rogue and not really following any rules but OnePlus has made sure those issues don’t come with its AI editing features. “The proprietary AI model behind the new feature “has been trained on a vast dataset that allows it to comprehend complex scenes”, which means it can “intelligently substitute unwanted objects with contextually appropriate elements that naturally elevate the photo’s appeal, empowering users with the ability to make high-quality photo edits anywhere and at any time,” OnePlus explained in a post this week.
OnePlus has not said how the AI feature will be rolled out but we are assuming the OnePlus Photo Gallery app will be getting the AI boost this month. As for which OnePlus phones will be getting these AI features, the company says you just need to have the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Open or even the latest mid-range OnePlus Nord CE 4 and the AI Eraser will be shipped to your devices in the next few weeks.
All these OnePlus phones come powered by Qualcomm’s AI-based chipset, which explains why they are compatible with the new AI features with many more to come in the future.
