These Smartphone Users Can Now Record VoWiFi Calls: What It Means
Smartphone users can record calls but the support is limited to few brands and they will now offer it for more callers.

Most smartphones these days support Voice Over Wi-Fi calling option which is helping people avoid bad network issues. And now, this calling mode is getting a much-demanded feature that many people tend to use. It has been reported that Samsung Galaxy users can actually record calls that are being made through the VoWiFi mode.

The capability is coming via the latest One UI 6.1 version which is based on Android 14 and will be available for older Galaxy devices in the next few months.

Google’s version of Android doesn’t let you record calls anymore but other versions of Android UI, like One Ui, OxygenOS and ColorOS, all have the feature. Now, Samsung users are getting it for VoWiFi calls as well, and it is likely that other brands using custom Android UI will extend the support in the near future.

If you have a Samsung Galaxy phone that has got the one UI update for the Android 14 version, you should update the Galaxy dialer app to version 15.1.66 or even newer. The new version is only available for those who have bought the Galaxy S24 models launched in 2024.

Call recording has become a privacy issue for many, which is why Google decided to remove its support from the stock Android version that means Pixel users cannot use the feature. Having said that, recording calls do have some positives especially if you want it as a proof for some reason or the other.

Galaxy phone users on One Ui 6.0 or older version will actually mention that call recording over VoWiFi calls is not possible, so it is just a matter of time before the feature rolls out for these users. We still don’t know if other brands will bring support for the feature but we’ll probably hear more about it in the coming months. As we mentioned, VoWiFi call settings allow you to take calls indoors where generally you face network disruptions or even call breaks.

What's your reaction?
