WhatsApp continues with its focus on video calling, both on desktop and mobile. The messaging app gets three new features this week that will be rolling out to all users over the next few weeks.
Video calling has been around on WhatsApp for many years now, but with the advancement in tech, the platform has managed to upgrade its resources and bring more features to meet your demands. So much so that you now see WhatsApp as a possible alternative to Zoom or even Google Meet in some cases. Well, the preference for WhatsApp over these platforms for video calling could increase thanks to the three new features.
WhatsApp Video Calling – Three New Features For PC and Mobile
Screen sharing with audio: We have seen this feature via the beta version recently and now it is official. As you can imagine, screen sharing over video calls can be useful if you like to share-watch movies or other content with your friends or family. WhatsApp is now giving you that choice.
The other big update coming to WhatsApp video calls is that you can now have up to 32 people on a video call across all your devices.
And the final improvement talks about highlighting the speaker on a WhatsApp video call and also having them appear first on the screen, leading the pack during the group interaction.
These features are definitely useful and make WhatsApp a definite rival to Google Meet and Zoom among others. WhatsApp also claims that it is continuing with its focus on improving the call quality and enhance the experience if you are on a fast connection. But also making sure that people in low-network areas don’t also face any issues with their call and clarity of the person’s voice.
