WhatsApp Locked Chat Only Works On Your Phone And Users Should Know That
WhatsApp has multiple security features to keep your chats private but it doesn't work everywhere, at least for now.

WhatsApp locked chat is very useful if you like to keep some personal chats extra private and happy to lock it behind a PIN or biometric ID. WhatsApp already offers end-to-end encryption which is quite secure on its own but you can still make it easy for people to see your personal chats, especially if you want to avoid them seeing it.

Locked chats come in handy in those situations. However, locked chats are only compatible with your phones, so if you use the WhatsApp web version on a browser, the locked chats automatically become visible to everyone.

WhatsApp has made it clear in its own way that locked chats don’t work on the desktop but there is a good chance that you might have missed this note, and we don’t blame you for that.

If you click on the account profile and scroll down, WhatsApp clearly says you can or have locked the chat on this device, which is applicable when you enable chat lock on Android or iPhone. But the good news is that WhatsApp has started testing locked chats on the web client as well, and we’re hopeful the public release is not that far away.

This development comes as a welcome relief for those who rely on the web client for managing their texting on WhatsApp. When this feature eventually launches, it will mean that all iOS, Android, and web platforms will have this functionality, providing a secure and synchronised experience for WhatsApp users.

WhatsApp is also working on other features, which includes the ability to create stickers on web, and also change status updates on the desktop client, both of which being tested with beta testers in the last few weeks.

What's your reaction?
