A woman’s late-night coffee order in Ahmedabad turned into a nightmare when a Zomato delivery partner allegedly flashed her during the delivery and made inappropriate remarks. The woman shared her harrowing experience on social media, tagging the food delivery company, which promptly took action against the delivery partner.
In her detailed account on X (formerly Twitter), the woman explained, “I ordered a coffee from zomato late at night as almost every cafe was closed due to heavy rainfall in Ahmedabad. The delivery partner was assigned probably 15-30 mins late but honestly i didn’t mind because I just needed coffee and I understood the whole rainfall situation.”

When she went to collect her order, the delivery partner made her uncomfortable by repeatedly apologising for the delay while smiling in a manner that made her uneasy. “He was saying he got ‘injured’ and got late, he repeated this 5-6 times and again I felt uncomfortable, he was pointing at his foot where he allegedly got injured and out of reflex I pointed my flashlight at his feet. It was very dumb of me to be curious about that fucking injury but I pointed the flashlight and saw that his genitals were out of his pants and he was smiling like a creep. He was laughing and mockingly telling me that ‘mam please help krdo’,” she further claimed.

The ordeal didn’t end there. The delivery partner allegedly called her later that night. She then reported the incident to Zomato, who assured her that they will hear both sides of the story: “The lady on the call said ‘they will hear the situation from both sides’, means me and the delivery partner.”
“I feel traumatised and infuriated because I know a lot of women who go through something similar multiple times a week and do not speak up. I feel ashamed to admit that I am desensitised to all of this happening because I am a woman and go through this very frequently. I shouldn’t be desensitised and numb to this but this country doesn’t allow us to be emotionally vulnerable kyunki beta tum ladki ho ‘be strong’,” she further expressed.

The woman even attached screenshot of the call she received from the delivery partner and from the Zomato customer care. Additionally, she gave 1 rating to the delivery partner who allegedly exposed himself.
In an update, the woman shared that the company has taken swift action against the delivery partner: “Zomato connected with me and I also connected to legal authorities. The delivery guy has been terminated and his license has been taken away.”
She noted, “I wont say I feel safe now, I still feel unsafe but they did what they could. I still am paranoid cause what if he returns back to the address? But I have legal support now. Thank you for spreading the word and helping me. I am doing relatively better. So grateful to have such loving and caring people around me.”
