Bengaluru Startup Promises 10-Minute Food Delivery, Internet Says 'Who Asked For This?'
Swish promises to beat Bengaluru’s infamous traffic and bring fresh, hot food to customers swiftly.

With the abundance of food delivery platforms today, getting a meal has become incredibly convenient. Now, a new player, Swish has entered the scene claiming to deliver food in just 10 minutes. This Bengaluru-based startup, currently operating in HSR Layout, promises to beat the city’s infamous traffic and bring fresh, hot food to customers swiftly. However, the concept has sparked a debate on social media, dividing opinions.

In a post on X, Ujjwal Sukheja, co-founder of Swish, shared the inspiration behind the startup’s concept. He revealed that he along with co-founder Saran and founder & CEO Aniket Shah recognised a common frustration among young people, that is, the long waiting time for food delivery.

“We decided to jump back into the startup world. Between the exploration we came across this thought: In HSR, you can get anything quickly—a dosa from a darshini in minutes.. But when it comes to online food delivery, the wait can be painfully long,” Sukheja noted.

“We realised that this problem is common to many young people like us. So, for them (and us), we are building Swish,” he added.

Describing the new platform, he said, “What’s Swish? A 10-minute food delivery app. We take care of tech, food, and delivery so we can minimise the delivery time for you.”

Sukheja’s idea sparked a lively discussion on social media. Some questioned the necessity of receiving food in 10 minutes, while others expressed concerns about the freshness of meals prepared so quickly. Here’s how people reacted in the comment section.

One user remarked, “who asked for this dawg why cant yall build something useful for once instead of just continuing to exploit our awful labour laws and obvious lack of food & hygiene regulations.”

Another added, “The innovation: screw over poor workers in kitchens and on bikes worse than ever before.”

Expressing frustration, someone commented, “You are inventing problems for your business ideas ATP ! We need ambulances in ten mins, not this.”

Another remarked, “who is starving so bad that they need food to be delivered in TEN MINUTES????”

“Well I know it’s a repetitive question But 10 min food delivery is only possible if food is already cooked. And do you really think Zomato and Swiggy can’t do that? What’s the mote here?” a person commented.

A witty remark read, “10 minutes is too long, Saar. Need it in 10 seconds. And the next update needs to be that I think of food and it appears on my plate.”

On the flip side, someone shared positive feedback, stating, “Tried this out of curiosity! Delivered on time!! Me & my friends really liked the samosa & packaging Kudos to Ujjwal Sukheja & team Swish!”

Since being shared online, the post has received over 4 lakh views.
