In a viral video, a student has now discovered a quick method of preparing a meal in a pressure cooker.

Student life is no doubt challenging for many, especially those who have been pursuing education away from home. Apart from their career-related tasks, youngsters need to take care of their daily chores as well. From cleaning rooms to cooking food, taking on every responsibility can sometimes become hectic as most of them perhaps were not accustomed to these things while staying with their parents. In a viral video, a student has now discovered a quick method of preparing a meal in a pressure cooker. It was certainly a smart move as the person actually cooked more than one item at the same time which helped in reducing the overall time.

A video of the process was shared on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption, “Easy way to prepare a meal in ten minutes in student life.” The clip opens with a glimpse of the final product before revisiting the steps.

The anonymous student first took some amount of rice in a vessel and poured water into it. Next, he puts an empty pressure cooker on a gas stove. The person then shifted his focus to preparing the curry item. He first takes a small amount of oil in the cooker and then adds the required spices, onion and chillies to it.

After stirring the fried mixture for a few moments, the student put chopped tomatoes and dal (pulses) in it. Then he poured water for the curry before placing the ready rice vessel in the centre of the cooker. This, however, was not the end of the procedure. The surprise came when the student put an entire potato in the curry and let it boil for some time.

Once everything was perfectly cooked, the lid of the cooker was lifted off. Then, the student went on to enjoy the ‘dal chawal’ along with mashed potato. The post caught the attention of many youngsters, who shared their thoughts in the comment section. A user said, “I would also put 3 pieces of Chicken.”

A viewer labelled the meal as the “national food of competitive students”.

Another found the preparation “mouth-watering.”

The video has accumulated more than 400,000 views while over 6,000 users have liked the 10-minute curry chawal.
