On June 12, 2024, a Mumbai doctor, Orlem Brendan Serrao, 26, discovered a human finger in an ice cream cone his sister ordered online. The incident occurred in Malad, where the woman had placed a grocery delivery app order. Serrao, who has an MBBS degree, sensed something unusual while eating the butterscotch ice cream and found a human finger upon closer inspection. Serrao approached the Malad police station where he complained. Initial investigations suggested that the severed thumb might have belonged to an injured factory worker and police are conducting tests to verify this.
