People can experience unimaginable twists of fate, even in the form of their spouses or partners. A woman from Indonesia probably had the most bizarre one as she found out that she attended her husband’s previous wedding as a child.
As per the report by the South China Morning Post, the 24-year-old woman named Renata Fadhea from Bangka Island is married to a man who is 38 years older than her. Recently, she discovered that fifteen years ago she attended one of his previous weddings when she was only 9 years old. The reports further state that they reconnected more than a decade later.
Taking to Tiktok, Renata Fadhea shared the bizarre information with the world, which has amassed more than 7.1 million views. The now-viral clip features a group photo from her husband’s old wedding in 2009. It shows the 9-year-old Fadhea standing near her future husband.
Fadhea also revealed that she came to the wedding as a guest because they were distant relatives. As per more information on the website, her husband is her aunt’s nephew.
As adults, the couple met in 2019 and tied the knot a year later, in 2020. They are parents to a son. Fadhea stumbled upon the photo while going through her husband’s second marriage album. She added that his now ex-wife has separated in 2011. He has another child from his first marriage, the reports state.
Netizens express mixed reactions to Renata’s discovery. The first user wrote, “See? As long as you have money, it’s fine, even with a 38-year age difference.” A second user stated, “I don’t understand, but I hope he does not get divorced this time.” And a third user shared, “Met by chance when a child, reunited as a grown-up, it’s fate.” The young woman mentioned that she and her husband are very happy with each other and leading a good life.
Marrying early is very common in Indonesia. As per a UNICEF report, some women are married before the age of 18. They state that it could be due to poverty, lack of education and religious reasons.
