Ordering a luxurious product online only to receive an entirely different item is every shopper’s nightmare. And for one man who eagerly awaited his sneakers from Tata Cliq Luxury, the disappointment was palpable when he found himself grappling with the aftermath of a mistaken delivery, compounded by the company’s reluctance to issue a refund.
It all unfolded with an ‘X’ user, @Ace_Of_Pace, who allegedly ordered ‘New Balance 9060 Grey & Blue Sneakers’ worth Rs. 22,999 from Tata Cliq Luxury. Much to his dismay, what arrived at his doorstep were not the stylish kicks he anticipated, but rather a pair of humble slippers. Seething with frustration, he lodged a complaint, hoping for a swift exchange. However, his hopes were dashed when Tata Cliq Luxury cited quality standards as the reason for withholding a refund, as revealed in the email screenshot shared by the OP.

Accompanied was the image of the product he ordered vs. what he received. “Tata Cliq Luxury is out here defrauding customers of their hard-earned money. I’ve lost my money, but pls save yourselves from being scammed. I ordered New Balance sneakers, they sent a pair of slippers, now refusing to refund money saying quality check failed,” lamented the OP in the caption of his now-viral post.

As word spread, the online community chimed in with their own insights. “How is a return item supposed to meet their quality standards? Isn’t that the whole point of return?” queried one puzzled observer, prompting a response from the OP: “They went on to further add that the correct product was delivered to me, hence they can’t process a refund. It’s easier to lay fault with the customers than bring in quality checks by delivery partner to ensure correct product was delivered in good condition.”
“Scams like this are becoming very common because the companies have third party vendors to fulfill deliveries and the scam is transpired at their end. The only solution to this problem is recording the unpacking of your products and then take strict action against the company,” asserted another. “Lesson learnt. Expensive/luxury items unboxing should be video recorded these days with capturing proper details on the delivery tag,” advised a third commentator.

Even Tata Cliq Luxury acknowledged the issue, expressing regret over the inconvenience caused. Their request for order details hinted at a potential resolution, but as of now, the outcome remains unknown.
