Chicken tikka masala is easily one of the most beloved food across the world. in the Indian subcontinent. This spicy and savoury snack is even considered one of the most popular dishes in the UK. Over the years, this classic dish has undergone many variations and experimentations. While some of these experiments work, some fail. Now, a viral video shows a person creating a ‘chicken tikka cupcake’. It appears that the recipe was deliberately made to get enraged reactions out of people. As its name suggests, the chicken tikka cupcake involves putting a sweet twist on the chicken dish and baking it like a cupcake.

The dish starts by making the cupcake batter. The cook melts the butter and adds a load of ketchup and minced chicken to it. Then, the person adds a dose of tonic water and flour into the mix and creates a batter-like texture. He then puts it into a cupcake tray for the oven. For ‘icing’, the man proceeds by melting chocolate over raw rice. He finally coats the ‘chicken tikka cupcake’ with melted chocolate and rice.
While sharing this video, the person wrote, “Your Indian friends will love my chicken tikka masala cupcakes. Thanks cheran for this recipe idea. What should I make next?”
Commenting on it, an Instagram user said, “I’m surprised that India hasn’t declared war on this dude.” Another person observed, “The meat isn’t even cooked all the way.” An Instagram user dared the cook, “Post a video of you eating it now.” Someone described the recipe as “painfully unfunny.”
This is one of many videos about classic chicken dishes that have gone viral for the wrong reasons. Back in September 2022, a chef created a butter chicken ice cream. The fancy-looking dish was made from butter chicken puree and served with spicy green chutney. It was invented by a popular food vlogging account on Instagram. The video was captioned, “Would you try this butter chicken ice cream?” In the comments, it was mentioned that people can try this unique ice cream at Aloft Aerocity, a hotel in New Delhi.

Many people were unhappy with this mix of butter chicken and ice cream. An Instagram user commented, “Stop calling it ice cream, it’s just last week’s leftover butter chicken which they kept in the freezer.. great way for restaurants to finish off leftover food.. just freeze it and invite food vloggers. Another person wrote, “This kinda experiment makes me wish please god hit the earth with an asteroid so that it can end human existence.”
