‘No Couples Or Fried Food’: UK Woman Shares Landlord’s Bizarre Conditions
The bizarre conditions have gone viral on social media, and people are reacting to them.

It is difficult to find good accommodations, especially in metropolitan cities, all around the world. This is mainly because of the increase in the migration of people from smaller cities and the rise in prices. Most people struggle to find a good house to rent in these cities. Sometimes, even if people find a good place to live for themselves, the landlord has certain conditions that need to be fulfilled. A similar situation has happened in Dalston, London, UK. One woman shared online her landlord’s demands before renting her property. The bizarre conditions have gone viral on social media, and people are reacting to them. According to reports, the woman named Natty Kasambala was looking for a place to rent in Dalston, London. It was then that she saw a listing, where the landlord specifically mentioned the conditions that had to be fulfilled by the tenant. She posted a screenshot of the conditions on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

In the screenshot, the landlord mentioned that they are looking for a tenant for their 2 BHK flat. But the tenant will have to fulfil some conditions. The first condition was that couples would not be allowed. They also mentioned that the flat is exactly as seen in the pictures. There are high ceilings, wooden floors, and large windows. Another thing mentioned was that the house has a lot of natural sunlight, which sometimes can bother people.

Apart from that, it was also mentioned that the tenant should be considerate, well-organised, and clean. They should have their own tableware, kitchen utensils, and pans, which can easily fit in the cupboard. Cooking fried food was completely prohibited in the kitchen. They also mentioned that if someone wants to keep any item in the bathroom, they should keep it in a box because if it’s seen out in the open, it’ll be thrown away. They also said that the landlord and her partner would be smoking in the house.

Natty posted the screenshot and wrote, “A genuine ad for a £1000 (Rs 1.5 lakh) room in Dalston. Why do I feel suffocated in my own home just reading this?”

Many people had a diverse reaction after seeing the conditions. One of the users wrote, “Hope someone moves in for a bit just to fry up the place and clutter it.” Another user wrote, “Feels like they are too transparent about what they want, lol”.

What's your reaction?
