Nvidia's Jensen Huang Says He Has 'Cleaned A Lot Of Toilets', Elon Musk Reacts
Jensen Huang was 30 years old when he co-founded the software company Nvidia with Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem.

Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, is undoubtedly one of the most renowned tech entrepreneurs in the world today. The co-founder of software company Nvidia comes in the list of the world’s richest people. However, his success was not overnight, the 61-year-old had to undergo a number of hardships before he established his tech empire. These hardships taught him some valuable life lessons. Now a video of Jensen Huang in which he shares one such life lesson is going viral.

In an undated video, Jensen Huang asserts that doesn’t think that any task is beneath him as he used to work as a dishwasher and a toilet cleaner. He recalled, “I’ve cleaned more toilets than all of you combined and some of them you just can’t unsee.” These jobs taught him to always be modest and be of service to others. Jensen Huang said that he always gets back to people who ask him for his insights.

News anchor Jon Erlichman shared this on X on July 1 and so far it has over one lakh views. This video caught Elon Musk’s attention and he commented, “Absolutely the right attitude. During the toilet paper shortages of Covid, I was making sure that our factories and offices had toilet paper!”

Commenting on it, an X user wrote, “I appreciate hearing that someone else is human and cares enough to help others solve their problems and can still be humble despite teaching such a high level of success.”

Another person wrote, “Absolutely. Very well said. Such a great focus for the willingness to encourage one’s ability to reason through complicated things, inspire, respect, and support other people to achieve greatness.”

Elon Musk and Jensen Huang have publicly praised each other on many occasions. Both of them have worked together on a number of projects including OpenAI. Jensen Huang made a “supercomputer” that he designed especially for OpenAI in the non-profit’s initial days. At that time, Elon Musk was an active part of OpenAI. This was before he left the project over differences with Sam Altman, the present CEO of OpenAI.

Last year in November 2023, Jensen Huang spoke about this “supercomputer” in conversation with the New York Times and said, “I delivered to Musk the first AI supercomputer the world ever made. It took us five years to make it. It’s called a DGX, and it’s everywhere in the world today.”
