In the last few days, some of the leading airlines in the country, have come under public scrutiny after several of its flights were cancelled and delayed. While this has ruined the airline’s years of reputation in just a few days, another similar story has now gained traction on the internet, drawing criticism towards another airline. A passenger recently shared her ordeal concerning Alliance Air’s handling of a flight cancellation, which made her face a major financial loss and a lot of inconvenience.
In a long post shared on Instagram, the flier shared how her Kochi-bound flight was cancelled, making her book another flight without any refund for the cancelled ticket. Stating that her BLR-COK ticket was booked on an Alliance Airlines flight, the flier shared that the flight did not take off as stated in the boarding pass, leaving passengers anxious. Upon enquiring about the delay, they were finally told that the flight was “cancelled due to a technical fault” and that the customers could book another flight.
Assured of a full refund, she even opted for another ticket for Rs 7,390 with another airline. However, it was then that the staff of Alliance Airlines informed the passengers of an alternative flight, adding that they wouldn’t receive any refund.
“Each employee was saying different things. I lost my money due to their mistake and miscommunication. It is really unfair and unjust. Is our money worth nothing?? We all fought for an alternative flight, but they said it was not possible. They said we should book another airline ticket. I was alone and had no other option, so I booked a new ticket. Due to their mistake and miscommunication with the airline staff, I and all my fellow passengers were in trouble,” the post further read.
The passenger, while blaming the airline for her loss of time and money, sought compensation and also threatened to file a consumer case against the airline.

Along with the post, she also shared a video from the airport, showing a chaotic situation after the flight was cancelled. Social media users also reacted to the video, showing their support for the flier. A user wrote, “Hey. I was scheduled on the reverse leg of this flight, from COK to BLR. no prior information, or compensation,” while another user shared his concerns and wrote, “It happened to me on 25th morning 7am flight informed after I reached the airport at 5am.. lost 15k.”
“Dont wait for their response…go ahead with legal process..,” a user suggested.
Many also asked the passenger to reach out to the consumer forum and file a formal complaint.
