Trending: Japanese Couple's Gesture To Let Co-Passenger Take Mt Fuji's Photo Is Too Adorable
A Japanese couple ducked to allow a fellow passenger to capture the best view of Mt Fuji.

The Japanese people are known for their high civic sense and politeness. Now a photo that captures a Japanese duo ducking on their train seats so that their co-passenger could take a nice photo of Mount Fuji is winning the internet. The photographer managed to take a photo that not only shows Mount Fuji through the train window but also shows the duo putting their heads on the train’s foldable table and smiling. Abdullah Ghazanfar, a choreographer and video editor living in Japan, texted this photo to his friend. In his texts, Ghazanfar wrote, “You will appreciate this picture more than most. They moved out of the way so I could take a picture of Mt.Fuji.” Mount Fuji is the second-highest volcano located on an island in Asia.

This friend shared the screenshot of Ghazanfar’s messages on X and soon a popular Instagram account, Upworthy, shared it on Instagram where it gathered over six lakh likes.

Ghazanfar added more context to this post and wrote, “Just wanna clarify that what makes it extra wholesome is that I didn’t ask them to move. They saw me trying to half-heartedly take it from across the aisle and give up when I couldn’t. They then did this so I could get a better view and encouraged me to try again.”

Many people shared similar instances of Japanese hospitality and small but significant acts of kindness in the comments. An Instagram user wrote, “On my trip to Tokyo I sat on the fuji side in the aisle next to this old man, and was asleep or half asleep for most of the ride. at some point he tapped me on the shoulder and pointed out the window and said “fuji”. kindly let me get closer to the window and take a pic will never forget it.”

Another person recalled, “Exactly the same thing happened to me on my trip in December! The lady was even so kind to tell me “Wait a bit, there will even be a better view!” and bowed forward again when we reached that point. So cute.”

Mount Fuji is an active volcano that is 12,388 ft (3,923 m) tall. It has been dormant since 1707 but is still monitored 24 hours a day. One can catch a view of Mount Fuji on the Tokaido Shinkansen train route between Tokyo and Osaka.

People also shared similar instances from other parts of the world. Someone shared, “I just returned from Norway. Two people on the opposite aisle traded seats so that I could see the Aurora Borealis. They live in Norway and see it all the time!”
