Viral Video: Tourist Guide’s Calm Reaction Before A Charging Elephant Leaves Internet Impressed
Elephants act aggressively for several reasons, such as tension, discomfort, feeling threatened, defending their territory or guarding their babies.

Elephants are adorable and they could be scary also. The internet is largely populated with videos that highlight the adorable aspects of these gentle giants, but some serve as a reminder of their potential for harm. Videos of elephants displaying their frightening side, from chasing tourist vehicles in a forest to scaring away predators, often emerge on social media platforms. A similar video of a charging elephant is now going viral on Instagram, but here the tourist guide caught the attention of the viewers for his heroic act.

In the video it is seen that an elephant began charging towards a group of men, as seen in the terrifying footage. Fortunately, one of the men was able to stop the beast by simply raising his hand. What has impressed people is his calm approach to addressing the imminent danger.

The video was shared by the Instagram handle Travelgram, which shares videos of wildlife tourism from all over the world. In the video, which appears to be from a wildlife sanctuary, a group of tourists is seen in a vehicle with a herd of elephants in the vicinity. All of a sudden, one of the elephants loses its cool and charges towards the vehicle. One of the men, presumably the tourist guide, opens the door and first bangs the bonnet of the car to scare away the animal and finally simply raises his hand, following which the elephant stops and turns away heading towards the herd.

“It’s always important to choose an experienced safari driver and guide who knows how to manage unexpected situations like this,” and internet users could not agree more. It was only because of the safari driver’s knowledge of how to handle the situation and presence of mind that they were saved; otherwise, the consequences could have been fatal. Users have been praising the tourist guide unanimously,” reads the caption of the video.

Elephants may act aggressively for several reasons, such as tension or discomfort, feeling threatened, defending their territory, or guarding their young. Elephants can also become irritated, much like many other animals, if they are provoked or if something disturbs their natural habitat. Elephants are among the many wild species that have their instincts and behaviours, thus it’s critical to respect their territory and way of life.
