Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is an animated character on the pitch, the 34-year-old was seen mocking Mohammad Rizwan with an ‘imaginary watch’ during the India vs Pakistan ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The two historic rivals locked horns at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14 and there were bound to be fireworks.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first, after which Pakistan openers Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique came up with a steady start. Mohammed Siraj removed Shafique to draw first blood for India, before Hardik Pandya got rid of Imam, thereby bringing the duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan into the middle.
Shortly after Imam’s dismissal, Rizwan came out to bat but there was a moment of banter during the game as the Pakistan batter was taking his time to mark his guard.

Commentating on the incident, former England captain Nasser Hussain came up with a hilarious remark.
“Virat’s got the imaginary watch on,” quipped Hussain as Kohli was seen staring at his wrist.

The partnership between Rizwan and Babar completely changed the momentum in Pakistan’s favour. Abdullah and Imam had stitched together a 41-run opening stand before Indian bowlers removed the two openers however, Rizwan and Babar stitched together an 82-run partnership.
Both the experienced batters nullified Indian bowlers as Pakistan captain Babar scored his half-century in 57 balls, while Rizwan also neared in on his fifty.
Siraj however broke the partnership when he cleaned up Babar at 50, with the onus on Rizwan to carry Pakistan forward.
