Kawasaki, the renowned Japanese giant, has launched the much-anticipated 2024 versions of its dirt dynamos – the KX 85 and the KLX 300R.
These beasts, arriving on Indian shores as fully assembled companions, flaunt price tags starting at Rs 4.20 lakh and Rs 5.60 lakh, a treat for every biking soul out there (all prices, ex-showroom).
2024 Kawasaki KX 85: Details
The 2024 KX 85 flexes its muscle with an 84cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 2-stroke engine, delivering power through a 6-speed gearbox. While exact power and torque figures remain undisclosed, its prowess is enhanced by a tubular semi-double cradle frame. Offering unparalleled control, it boasts a 36mm inverted fork with adjustable compression damping upfront and a fully adjustable Uni Trak monoshock at the rear, ensuring 275mm of wheel travel on both ends.
Bringing this powerhouse to a halt are a single 202mm disc at the front and a single 150mm disc at the rear. The KX 85 cruises on 17-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels, hugged by Dunlop MX33 tyres renowned for their exceptional grip, slide control, bump absorption, and durability. Furthermore, it accommodates diverse rider heights with six-position adjustable handlebar mounts and radiator shrouds.
2024 Kawasaki KLX 300R: Details
The KLX 300R boasts a 292cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine mated to a 6-speed transmission. Delivering an impressive 29bhp at 8,000rpm and 26Nm at 7,000rpm, this powerhouse roars within a tubular semi-double cradle chassis. Its prowess on rough terrain is amplified by an inverted front fork and a Uni Trak rear monoshock, offering a substantial 285mm of wheel travel.
Braking duty is taken care of by a 244mm front disc and a 215mm rear disc, both of petal-type design, firmly anchored to 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. Besides this, it features a 4-way adjustable handlebar setup, enhancing the rider’s experience.
