The ongoing debate between vegetarian and non vegetarians has sparked fresh discussions on social media. Recently, a chef and food content creator posted a picture of her meal, which included rice and dal, while she claimed how proud she felt for following a vegetarian lifestyle. In her post, she claimed that her “plate is free from tears, cruelty and guilt.” However, her statement left many irked. People were quick to criticise her for being judgmental and insensitive towards those who choose to eat meat. While a handful of people supported her views, most comments disagreed with her perspective.
Many social media users pointed out that no one has the right to decide what others eat. Some made sensible comments and revealed how plants also feel pain. On the other hand, to mock the chef, several users shared pictures of their plates, filled with various meat dishes and defended their right to enjoy non vegetarian meals.
Sharing her point and picture of her plate, the content creator wrote, “I’m proud to be a vegetarian. My plate is free from tears, cruelty and guilt.”

Reacting to the post, a user said, “I don’t understand why it has to be about cruelty. Everyone has their own preference. Would you ask a carnivore animal to be vegetarian? Nature has created all of us in a certain way, let’s respect that and move on with life. We are built to consume plants and meat both, plants are also living things.”

Another criticising the woman shared, “Your mentality is more cruel than what’s on a Non-vegetarian plate. Better change your mind or change your posts. Coexistence is the ultimate goal in a social community.”
What's proud of that??? Keep ur thoughts and ideology with you no issues. Don't tell the other side is cruel. Your mentality is more cruel than what's on a Non-vegetarian plate. An individual shared, “That’s awesome. My plate’s full of veggies too, but let’s not forget, onions shed their own tears from failing to thrive in the soil, rice are just the lifeless bodies of paddies, and those potatoes? They were once hopeful little spuds dreaming of becoming fries. Sometimes we make choices, but that doesn’t mean we’re always omniscient or perfect.”
