Maruti Suzuki is grabbing all the headlines nowadays, a big thanks to its ever-electric SUV named eVX. The company already revealed a lot of details about the same. Now, it has been reported that the Indian-built EV will not only hit the Indian roads, but also will be seen roaring on the international market as well.

The report says the company’s Gujarat facility will be used as the base unit for the eVX. The jointly developed EV is expected to launch somewhere around 2025. However, the company is yet to drop the exact details about the same.

Some reports have suggested that the electric SUV will be developed locally, which will give direct benefit to Indian customers in terms of pricing. The company is expected to ditch the plan for bringing the batteries from outside. It will be manufactured from the local market.

Reacting about the plan, the company’s Executive Director, Rahul Bharti said “It is not enough to simply launch a model with imported batteries and motors. Our plan is that when we launch an EV, it should be locally made. So we will have a localized battery and motor in our EV and to build scale, we will also export the model from India.”

Meanwhile, as the launch is approaching, a lot of details about the eVX have already been leaked or shared online. The company also has showcased the concept avatar of eVX, revealing some of the key features and overall design ideas during AutoExpo 2023.

The upcoming eVX is likely to carry a similar design element as the concept. However, some cosmetic changes are expected.

Under the hood, e-SUV will feature a robust 60 kWh battery setup, along with a smaller 48Kwh battery pack. These units will provide the customers a decent range of around 550 km or even more, depending upon the driving techniques.
